Rewa is calling on the Fiji Football Association to postpone their game this weekend with Labasa due to a depleted player count in the side.
Head coach Marika Rodu elaborated on the predicament facing the Delta Tigers when speaking to SUNsports yesterday.
“I am still requesting Fiji FA to consider our status and our plea to postpone our match against Labasa,” he said.
“We were only using 18 players since the 2015 Fiji FACT due to the absence of the four Fiji Under-20 players, while four other players scheduled to travel with the Fiji Under-23 team to Vanuatu this Friday.
“Then Peniame Drova is on suspension and two other players will feature for Saraswati College for the Secondary School competition this week.”
Rodu asked for Fiji Football to consider that the Vodafone Fijian Under-20 quartet Iosefo Verevou, Setareki Hughes, Tevita Waranaivalu and Garish Prasad needed down time to rest and recover.
Rewa is expected to travel to Labasa to play them at 1.30pm at Subrail Park this Saturday. All Freight Logistics Suva hosts 4R Electric Ba at the ANZ Stadium while Tailevu Naitasiri hosts Shop N Save/Reebok Lautoka at Ratu Cakobau Park.
Both games will be played at 3pm on Sunday.
