Labasa-Rewa In First Semifinal At Ratu Cakobau Park

The Pinto Investment Labasa will play host Rewa in the first semifinals of the 2017 Vodafone Fiji FACT at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori on June 17.

In the second semifinals, Premier Distributors Suva will play Jacks Nadi which will be the repeat of last year’s final.

Labasa topped group A with seven points after beating Nadi 1-0 in the last match with a goal to Edwin Shayam in the second-half while Nadi is the runner-up in the group with six points.

In group B, Suva topped the group with seven points while Rewa finished second after their match ended in a nil-all.

The Marika Rodu-coached Rewa side together with Suva and Labasa are the unbeaten side in the tournament with no goals conceded.

Fiji Football Association chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf confirmed that the semi-finals and finals would be played at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori next month.

“We have negotiated with Nausori Town Council and have secured the ground on June 17 for the semi-finals and June 18 for the final, “Yusuf said.

He thanked fans for coming out in numbers and showing support to their districts.

“The group stages of the Fiji FACT have been a very successful in terms of crowd and the display of football by all the eighth districts,” Yusuf said.

Yusuf added the both semifinals would be a very tough.

The first semifinal will kick off at 2pm and the second will be played at 4pm on Saturday June 17. The final will be played at 2.30 pm on Sunday in Nausori.
