Expect tough competition in the final play-offs of the Vodafone National Club Championship this weekend says Fiji Football Association competitions manager, Amitesh Pal.
Pal said the zonal play off was very competitive and exciting.
“I would say the final play offs will be thrilling as all the eight teams are top clubs and they have done their best to qualify from their respective pools,” Pal said.
Pal said all teams came out well prepared and we could not see any team losing with big goal margins.
“We can see how prepared the clubs came because even the senior district clubs gave tough time for to the top guns.”
The four Southern clubs played well and have worked hard to qualify. Navuso Barbarians FC surprised everyone by qualifying for the finals,” Pal said.
Pal said this year a new winner would be crowned and would not say which team looked favourite.
“All teams are equal after seeing their pool matches and anything can happen as they all have their district reps.”
“Last year’s winners Press FC failed to qualify so we will have a new winner this year,” Pal said.
The winner of the Vodafone National Club Championship will receive the prize money of $5000 while the runner-up gets $1500.
